DENVER, CO and RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC--(Marketwire - September 24, 2007) - Mi-Co, the mobile
data capture company, will be exhibiting at the largest Home Care & Hospice
conference held in the United States. The National Association for Home
Care & Hospice (NAHC) hosts its 2007 Annual Conference & Exhibition in
Denver, Colorado from October 6-10. The theme of the meeting is "Homecare
and Hospice: Because There Is No Place Like Home." The 26th Annual Meeting
will attract a large audience of Homecare & Hospice leaders serving the
growing home healthcare needs of the United States.
Mi-Co provides a mobile e-forms solution, Mi-Forms for Home Health &
Hospice, which allows mobile caregivers to use a pen to handwrite their
OASIS forms at the point of care, have data instantly digitized and
validated, uploaded to existing systems and submitted for payment.
User-friendly Mi-Forms helps homecare agencies save time and money and
improve quality of care by spending more time with patients and less time
with paperwork. Mi-Forms for Home Health & Hospice runs on popular mobile
hardware devices such as Tablet PCs, digital pens, Pocket PCs and signature
capture pads.
Mi-Co senior staff and key partners will be demonstrating Mi-Forms for Home
Care & Hospice and the latest in forms automation in Booth 1622.
"While Mi-Co has a long history in Home Health, this will be the first year
that we are sponsoring our own booth at NAHC to demonstrate the most
innovative mobile e-forms solution in the Home Care & Hospice industry,"
said Mi-Co Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Greg Clary. "Not only will Mi-Co
highlight our solutions for Home Health & Hospice, we have also scheduled
discussions with key healthcare solution providers who are evaluating the
Mi-Forms technology for use in extending their products to highly mobile
caregivers via Tablet PC and Digital Pen.
Mi-Forms for Home Health & Hospice is being used today by agencies such as
Wilson County Home Care & Hospice in North Carolina. Under the direction of
Home Health Director Debra Harris, the Agency implemented Mi-Forms on
Tablet PC in order to save valuable nursing time and maximize the quality
of the data they collect via OASIS while serving their clients.
"The battery life and weight of the Tablet were deciding factors for us.
The light-weight Tablet PC is optimal for nurse mobility and by design does
not create a barrier to patient communication," said Ms. Harris.
After an ROI study, Wilson County was pleased to report that Mi-Forms for
Home Health & Hospice on Tablet PC reduced errors in data capture by 50%
and saved nurses 1.5 hours per day in transcription. "Mi-Forms for Home
Health has tremendously increased our efficiency and has allowed our staff
to spend more time with each patient," confirms Ms. Harris.
