This web-based application was built from the ground up to be compliant with HealthVault, Microsoft's newly launched consumer-health platform. Microsoft's HealthVault enables consumers to securely compile and store a centralized record of their personal health information. Consumers input health information using HealthVault-compliant devices and applications or by accessing health-care providers, facilities and vendors that have created HealthVault-compliant systems. Consumers may then share that information across an array of health professionals and applications by seamlessly "pushing" their health information to those vendors or health-care providers from whom they would like to receive health-related services.
This application enables Sound Health Solutions to expand upon its clinic-based offerings via the Web in a secure environment and greatly increases the number of consumers who can gain access to their comprehensive weight-management programs. Sound Health Solution's clinicians can now receive up-to-date information regarding client progress in order to provide truly customized programs that reflect clients' changing needs and can accurately monitor their clients' progress in order to ensure that programs are effective. A base-model of the application supplies consumers with journaling and reporting functions for a variety of health-related metrics with the option to upgrade to a high-touch program that includes secure messaging with a team of highly-experienced clinicians and phone- or Webcam-based discussion and follow-up. Guided by experienced clinicians, this application empowers the user to stay accountable to their goals and build a foundation for healthy, long-term lifestyle change.
