Radyne Receives Two Orders for Advanced Troposcatter Modems and Amplifiers

PHOENIX, Oct. 23, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Radyne Corporation (Nasdaq:RADN) announced today it received two orders of its advanced high capacity troposcatter modem, the TM-20. One of the orders also included companion amplifiers from its Xicom business unit. The orders for an international Oil and Gas firm and for a United States Government customer have a total value of approximately $800,000.

Troposcatter, or over-the-horizon communications, is the ability to transmit radio waves over the curvature of the Earth by bouncing signals off irregularities (small changes in humidity, temperature and pressure) in the troposphere approximately 10 Km above the Earth's surface. The TM-20 represents a quantum leap in troposcatter communications technology; facilitating data transfer at speeds up to 20 Mbps, nearly double that of any other over-the-horizon system available today. The modem also provides increased support for a variety of communications techniques to maximize transmission range and data integrity.

"These orders resulted from our determined pursuit of our strategy to penetrate this market," said Myron Wagner, Radyne's CEO. "We are particularly gratified that one of these orders was a result of the TM-20s superior technology compared to that of our competitors."
