ST. PAUL, MN--(Marketwire - November 12, 2007) - Frank Indihar, MD, CEO of Bethesda Hospital in
St. Paul, will be retiring in February 2008. Dr. Indihar has served as CEO
of Bethesda Hospital since 2002. He also held the role of Medical Director
at Bethesda from 1997 until just recently. Bethesda is a member of the
HealthEast Care System.
"As Bethesda's CEO, I've been able to affect the lives of many patients by
attending to our quality of care, initiating new programs and enhancing our
environment for the sake of our patients, families and staff," said Dr.
Indihar.
During his tenure, Dr. Indihar has led Bethesda through many changes and
improvements, both in terms of physical renovations and program and service
enhancements. The hospital's infrastructure and appearance have been
radically upgraded and almost the entire hospital has been renovated. Dr.
Indihar championed the solicitation of the sculptures, landscaping and
installation of the gazebo to the Sheehy Therapeutic Garden. Under his
leadership, Bethesda has moved to the PPS system of reimbursement, started
Bethesda's Outpatient Services, including the Capistrant Parkinson's Center
and HealthEast Concussion Clinic.
Dr. Indihar is always quick to credit Bethesda's employees and medical
staff for these successes. Employee engagement has continued to climb. In
2007, Bethesda received the "healthy workplace" award from the Minnesota
Psychological Association.
Before serving as Bethesda's CEO and Medical Director, Dr. Indihar
practiced medicine with St. Paul Internists for 27 years. He has been
active in many professional organizations including American College of
Physicians, American Medical Association, Ramsey County Medical Society,
Minnesota Society of Internal Medicine, and American College of Chest
Physicians. He has served as a delegate to the American Medical Association
House of Delegates since 1996.
Dr. Indihar has also been involved with many civic activities and currently
serves on the Minnesota Orchestra's Board of Directors. He also served as
President of New Connections and on the Board of The St. Paul Seminary and
was a member of the St Paul City Planning Commission.
