NEEDHAM, MA--(Marketwire - January 3, 2008) - Cambridge Healthtech Institute's (CHI) flagship
event, the Molecular Medicine Tri-Conference (March 25-28, 2008) will
feature "Best Selling Author" Clay Christensen as a Plenary Keynote.
Clay Christensen, best known for his study of innovation in commercial
enterprises and his theory of disruptive technology, will present a Plenary
Keynote address entitled "Diagnosing the Disease: Disruptive Innovation in
Healthcare." He is scheduled to provide the opening presentation of the
event on March 25, 2008 at the Moscone Convention Center in San Francisco,
California
Keynote Summary:
In the absence of the ability to precisely define a disease, the care of
patients is best undertaken by highly skilled professionals, whose
intuition is based on deep experience. This describes the history of health
care, and we call this the practice of intuitive medicine. Molecular
biology holds the promise of transforming medical practice into a new phase
that we call precision medicine. It promises to dramatically reduce cost
and increase the predictable effectiveness of therapy.
Phillips Kuhl, President of Cambridge Healthtech Institute, said, "Clay
Christensen is a true 'thought leader' and perfectly positioned to provide
great insight into the technology rich area of Molecular Medicine. I
personally look forward to hearing him present on this complex topic."
