CIB Marine Bancshares, Inc. Appoints Charles E. Baker to the Board of Directors

PEWAUKEE, WI--(Marketwire - February 4, 2008) - The Board of Directors of CIB Marine Bancshares, Inc. (CIB Marine) is pleased to announce that Charles E. Baker has been named to the Company's Board of Directors.

Mr. Baker has served as a Director of CIB Marine's subsidiary, Marine Bank, since July 2006. Mr. Baker is a Certified Public Accountant, and retired as a partner of Ernst & Young LLP in 2005, after serving the firm in a variety of increasingly responsible roles for 36 years. From 1996 to 2005, he was Partner in the National Office Professional Practice Group with responsibility for the Lake Michigan area, which consisted of the Chicago, Milwaukee, Indianapolis, Grand Rapids and Fort Wayne offices. In this role, Mr. Baker was responsible for technical reviews of public and private companies in addition to consultation on accounting and SEC issues, and participated in numerous initial public offerings and other SEC filings. Mr. Baker also had a six-month assignment in the firm's Tokyo office where he assisted clients including NEC Corporation, Toshiba and Fuji Photo with US accounting issues, and served for many years as Partner in the firm's Milwaukee office. Other clients Mr. Baker served include: Harley Davidson, Kohl's, Stryker, Herman Miller, S.C. Johnson, Journal Communications and Meijer.
