MIAMI, March 25, 2008 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- A little more than a year after the installation of FieldTurf was complete, the City of Miami continues to report that the usage on their FieldTurf field at Curtis Park has not doubled, not even tripled, but has risen to a level of almost 4 times the amount of usage that they were getting on their previous natural grass field.

"The high schools love it and we increased our number of games we can hold on the turf by almost 4 times compared to what we were able to accommodate with natural grass, which is incredible. We are also getting requests from private high schools to use the field. All of the reviews from other FieldTurf sites were positive and that's why FieldTurf was selected."

The project was made possible through a private/public partnership between the City of Miami, the Miami Dolphins, and the NFL. At the opening of the field, high school football players from across Miami-Dade County were on hand to test out the new field by participating in a Miami Dolphins football camp.
