LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwire - March 28, 2008) - Southern California gas prices have stopped setting new records for over a week in most areas and have dropped very slightly since last week, according to the Automobile Club of Southern California's Weekend Gas Watch.
The average price of self-serve regular gasoline in the Los Angeles-Long Beach area is $3.603, which is 1.2 cents lower than last week, 26 cents more than last month, and 43 cents above last year. In San Diego, the price is $3.630, which is 1.2 cents less than last week's price, 22 cents above last month, and 43 cents higher than last year. "Like most other states, prices are hovering just under record levels in California," said Auto Club spokesperson Jeffrey Spring. "It's still too early to tell if this is the end of price records for the spring or just a pause before prices begin increasing again."
