A Poetic Passage Into Life -- Author Laura J. Gray Mitchell Shares Poignant, Inspiring Poetry That Reflect On Life and Faith in God

PHILADELPHIA, June 9, 2008 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Open your senses and immerse yourself in the poetic reflections of A Passage Into Life, a poetry book written by Laura J. Gray Mitchell. Read on and examine yourself, see who you are, where you are going and what you can do to bring about and to restore the wholeness in our lives and the lives of others.

A Passage Into Life is a wonderful collection of poetry that covers a broad range of topics inspired by real people and circumstances that most people can relate to. Other poems in this anthology include reflections on Almighty God and the love He has for His people and creation. Still, others have personal thoughts of the author that she wants to share with readers as well as those who are special to her heart. A Passage Into Life is influenced by the state of children and family, and boldly speaks about, to and on behalf of children. It addresses some of the practices in life that damage the development of our young people, degrade our adults and destroys the older populations. It provokes thought, calls for reflection and inspires action that brings about change for the better.

This poetry book is for anyone but especially for those who are hurting, in despair, in need of inspiration and those who need to find or reaffirm their faith in God. Never lose faith and always pray to the Lord God and He will help you understand. Open your heart to A Passage Into Life and allow yourself to be saved by that very special grace that only God is able to give.

About the Author

Laura J. Gray Mitchell is an African American and has lived most of her life in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She remembers vividly certain parts of her childhood in the Richard Allen Homes, where the family lived a short time. The move to a tiny house on Letterly Street in North Philadelphia made a lasting impact on her: There she spent time thinking of becoming a writer. She attended Spring Garden and M. Hall Stanton Elementary Schools, Gillespie Jr. High School and the Philadelphia High School for Girls. The author's public school experiences were among the best. A high school French assignment gave her a wonderful means of expression and communication -- poetry. It was not until later in life that she began to concentrate on this venue. In 1978 she composed a short collection of unpublished poems. Later she resumed writing in verse about social issues and problems. Many poems contained in A Passage Into Life are written to or about Stanton School, family, friends, her church -- and faith. She has been a member of the United Methodist Church since childhood, enjoys writing short plays and poems of faith, and belonging to various service groups within the church.
