PRUDENCE ISLAND, R.I., Sept. 18, 2008 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Have you ever wondered what it is like to live on an island without a bridge? Co-authors Josie Avery and Grace Hall McEntee share their fascinating experiences of living in Prudence Island through their delightful collaboration, Home At Last.
For those who have never been away from the city, it can be difficult to imagine isolation with only a small population. Separation from daily life on the mainland breeds a unique culture, just like Prudence Island where the people have their own lingo and island ways. Their language is sprinkled with references to wind direction, temperature, tides and time. This fascinating book is composed of personal narratives from the authors which give us a rare glimpse of life in a small island community. There, people enjoy the island's relaxing atmosphere where they savor night walks on the beach, a run on a dirt road, and stopping to talk to a turtle. Kids and adults build strong, lasting relationships -- unique friendships that leap barriers that ordinarily separate us from those who might become our friends.
Home at Last emanates from Prudence Island -- an island without a bridge -- the place where the authors Josie Avery and Grace Hall McEntee live. Get a copy of their fantastic book and experience their unique way of life. Find out what it feels like to be Home At Last...
