U.S. RE Names Smith to Information Tech Post

PEARL RIVER, NY--(Marketwire - October 1, 2008) - William R. Smith has been appointed Group
Manager-Information Technology at U.S. RE Companies, Inc., the
international financial services firm, Richard Davies, Senior Vice
President-Chief Financial Officer, announced.
"Bill Smith is an accomplished professional with more than 15 years of
diverse experience in IT management," Davies said. "We're pleased to have
his expertise as the Company grows." Smith has been responsible for
network installation / administration and software deployment at J. P.
Morgan Chase, Corsearch, Inc., and other New York companies.
Smith will oversee computer and Internet support services for The U.S. RE
Group, including U.S. RE Corporation, the worldwide reinsurance broker;
Uni-Ter Underwriting Management Corp., managing general underwriter in the
healthcare industry; Uni-Ter Claims Services Corporation; Uni-Ter Risk
Management Services; Uni-Ter International Insurance Company, Ltd.; and
U.S. RE Securities, LLC, investment banking.
Smith holds an Associate in Science degree with honors from Charter Oak
State College. He also graduated from Suffolk Technical Institute with a
major in Computer Programming and Operations. As a Petty Officer in the
U.S. Coast Guard, he managed on-line computer operations through satellite
networks of Coastal Rescue Stations.
