Silverstar's Empire Interactive Ships Pipe Mania and Unsolved Crimes

BOCA RATON, Fla., Oct. 1, 2008 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Empire Interactive, an international publisher and developer of interactive entertainment software and a subsidiary of Silverstar Holdings (Nasdaq:SSTR), shipped Pipe Mania and Unsolved Crimes to North American retail outlets yesterday, September 30, 2008.

Pipe Mania is available for Nintendo DS(tm), PSP(r), PlayStation(r)2, and PC. Unsolved Crimes is available exclusively for Nintendo DS(tm). Both games are distributed exclusively by Atari in North America under a recently announced partnership agreement.

"Pipe Mania and Unsolved Crimes represent great entertainment for the entire family," said Karim Farghaly, vice president of sales for Empire Interactive. "Our North American distribution capabilities have grown exponentially in 2008, and these titles will introduce our label to new audiences, especially during the holiday season."

Pipe Mania is a fast-paced puzzle game in which players lay down a set of pipes on a tiled grid in order to keep the Flooze, a constant flowing substance that speeds up with progression, moving through the pipes as long as possible without overflowing. Players must be fast with their fingers and utilize quick forward thinking, precise coordination, and keen awareness to survive the time constraints, pressure and accuracy needed to navigate the game. Pipe Mania has an ESRB Rating of "E" for "Everyone."

Fully utilizing the unique dual screen capabilities of Nintendo DS, Unsolved Crimes integrates three gaming elements, an action game, a 3D crime investigation and a crime quiz, to provide players with a distinctive experience. Taking the role of a rookie detective as part of the New York Police Department, players will explore the 1970s inspired New York environments in the process of solving Betsy Blake's mysterious disappearance. Crime is rampant in the city, and Blake's disappearance is the latest in a frightening series of events that are slowly bringing New York to its knees. With more than eight independent cases to solve in the interactive environments, players will find themselves fully immersed into the mysteries in Unsolved Crimes. Unsolved Crimes is rated "T" for "Teen" with an MSRP of $29.99.
