IntelePeer and Microsoft Collaborate on Applications That Showcase IntelePeer AppworX Integration With Microsoft Live Services and Microsoft Outlook
IntelePeer Joins Microsoft Partner Program to Integrate Hosted Rich Media Communications Services
| Source: IntelePeer
SAN MATEO, CA--(Marketwire - October 21, 2008) - IntelePeer Inc., a leader in hosted on-demand
rich media communications, today announced that the company has joined the
Microsoft® Partner Program to demonstrate the potential of the IntelePeer
AppworX™ open communications platform to enhance Web and business
applications with powerful voice 2.0 features, video, data, SMS and rich
media communications.
As part of the partnership, IntelePeer and Microsoft will collaborate on
the development of demonstration applications and services that integrate
some of the powerful voice 2.0 features of the IntelePeer AppworX open
communications platform with Microsoft Windows® Live™ Services and
Microsoft Outlook®.
"This partnership with Microsoft is a key milestone toward reaching our
shared goal of demonstrating the strong capabilities of our respective
platforms," said John Hart, senior vice president of business development
and marketing for IntelePeer. "Our jointly developed applications will
showcase the next wave of communications services that is possible without
incurring capital costs and risk. Prospective customers will be able to see
how voice, data and rich-media services can be blended into existing
products, delivering a new surge of communications-enabled business
processes that transform the user experience and enhance productivity."
"Microsoft is working with IntelePeer to enable third-party media and
content providers to voice-enable applications using Microsoft's Live
Services and the IntelePeer AppworX platform," said Joseph Hofstader,
architect, Microsoft Communications Sector group. "Through their Web
services interface, IntelePeer has simplified access to their carrier-grade
network to enable rich media communications while abstracting the
complexities of telephony services."
Personalized Rich Media Widget
The white-labeled widget will showcase how a user can use a single login to
register and maintain preferences across multiple sites or applications,
such as configuring conference call parameters (bridge numbers, PIN
numbers, callback numbers), or registering to become a member of any social
or business network (SMS-enabled numbers, cell phone, etc.). When a user
logs into an "IntelePeer Powered Site" using their Microsoft LiveID, all
their communications preferences (how and when to receive calls, on what
device, etc.) will already be known.
The widget will feature a mashup of business collaboration applications and
social networking sites, enhanced with voice, streaming video, music,
communication and conferencing capabilities. To make these features easy to
use, the user will see and work with a familiar interface built on
Microsoft Live Messenger. The mashup is valuable for business users in
search of higher team collaboration and productivity as well as
entertainment artists looking for better ways to engage their fan groups
and promote their events. Users will also be able to drag and drop their
registered contacts into a window to initiate a one-to-one or a conference
call between their existing Live Messenger friends, or to send them all a
text or voice message or other rich media content.
This widget will integrate the IntelePeer SuperRegistry™,
Bridge-to-Services, Conference On-Demand, and Voice and SMS Blast with
Microsoft Live ID, Microsoft Messenger™, Microsoft Contacts™ and
Microsoft Silverlight™. IntelePeer is making this widget and others,
along with applets and Web services, available to software platform and
carrier partners' end users, branded and "skinned" to complement the
partners' applications.
Available now, the IntelePeer AppworX open communications platform
integrates the IntelePeer global carrier-grade network and the
SuperRegistry depository of rich user data with a Web services-based
developer suite featuring applets, widgets and a rich set of APIs.
