Phoenix Systems Introduces BrakeStrip(TM) With FASCAR(R) Technology -- The Easiest and Most Reliable Way to Protect Your Car's Stopping Power
| Source: Phoenix Systems
BICKNELL, UT--(Marketwire - October 22, 2008) - BrakeStrip™ with FASCAR® copper testing
technology is a revolutionary new brake fluid test strip that quickly and
accurately diagnoses the condition of brake fluid. This highly advanced
technology tests for the level of copper in the fluid as an indicator of
corrosion occurring in the brake system. Its purpose is to serve as an
early warning for brake fluid replacement, much like brake pad wear
indicators are designed to inform you that your brake pads need to be
replaced. BrakeStrip is the easy to use test that will warn you when your
brake fluid is no longer protecting your brake system and needs to be
replaced.
A recent study by the Car Care Council revealed that nearly half of all
motorists said that brake failure was their number one fear in a driving
emergency. Yet, most people do not think about changing their brake fluid,
or understand how brake fluid can affect stopping power. BrakeStrip is
recommended for anyone interested in ensuring good stopping power and the
full functioning use of their brakes. Because brake fluid is the lifeblood
of any brake system, it plays a vital role in keeping your brakes fully
functioning and safe by providing protection against corrosion. This
inexpensive test takes approximately one minute to perform, and can help
diagnose problems to ensure good stopping power and prevent the need for
expensive repairs, especially for costly Anti-lock Brake (ABS) systems.
Just like all automotive fluids, brake fluid will eventually lose its
ability to protect the system. Over time, brake fluid corrosion inhibitors
are depleted, leaving the entire brake system vulnerable to corrosion.
Corrosion can quickly damage ABS components, pistons, seals and cylinders,
weakening the entire system and putting a vehicle's stopping power at risk,
or causing costly repairs to the brake system.
Until recently, the technology did not exist to test for copper, the
primary indicator of corrosion in a brake system. Corrosion is a common
cause of brake component failure.
Determining brake fluid condition using moisture, color, the length of time
in the vehicle, or mileage are all unreliable methods that can give you a
false sense of security about the integrity of the brake fluid. Moisture
tests, or other outdated methods, do not accurately detect the existence of
corrosion, and all, except BrakeStrip, are hit-or-miss methods of
determining the condition of brake fluid.
The test strip is easy to use. Once dipped in brake fluid the test strip
begins the copper measurement reaction, changing color from white to purple
in direct proportion to copper ions suspended in the fluid. After 60
seconds, the color is compared to the FASCAR color scale. A deep purple
color indicates the need to replace the fluid.
Developed as a tool to protect stopping power, BrakeStrip is now being used
by brake service providers across the U.S. For more information about this
