CHICAGO, Oct. 27, 2008 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Epson America today brings expanded levels of image quality, stability and color accuracy to a wide range of proofing applications with new professional proofing papers. The expanded portfolio now includes Standard Proofing Paper (205) and (240), Proofing Paper White Semimatte, Proofing Paper Commercial, Standard Proofing Paper Adhesive, Crystal Clear Proofing Film, and Proofing Paper Publication.
Optimized for use with Epson inks, including new Epson UltraChrome(r) HDR ink technology, these new papers deliver superior color accuracy and stability for general proofing, composition and contract proofing. In addition, Epson's key proofing papers are being certified to adhere to GRACoL(r) and SWOP(r) specifications, adopting new G7 calibration, printing and proofing process control methods to ensure accurate replication of the visual appearance of imagery from proof to press.(1)
"Ink jet proofing plays an important role for today's mission-critical print jobs, and recent technology achievements provide prepress and proofing professionals with even higher degrees of quality, accuracy and stability," said Jeff Smith, product marketing manager, Professional Imaging, Epson America. "We've engineered our latest generation of ink jet proofing solutions, the Epson Stylus(r) Pro 7900 and 9900 and our new proofing papers to provide unmatched print quality, instant drying, short term stability, and our widest color gamut ever for a range of applications that require the highest proofing standards."
The new proofing papers are available in a range of sizes, finishes and weights and are optimized to address specific needs for a range of proofing applications, including matching color-critical commercial offset press applications for brochures, collateral, book covers, and posters, as well as publication proofing applications, including newspaper and magazine images.
"The new Epson proofing papers add unmatched value to our color management solution," said Eric Magnusson, president, Left Dakota. "Using the new media, we matched GRACoL 6 and SWOP 2006 with three of the most popular ink jet RIPS, and we were very pleased to find that no peak Delta E exceeded 4, and the average Delta Es were between .44 and .66. These new papers stand apart as excellent proofing papers -- both in quality and price."
The new line of proofing papers will be on display at Epson's company booth 3815 at Graph Expo 2008.
