LONG ISLAND, NY--(Marketwire - November 2, 2008) - If you're looking to be part of this year's
premier A-List fall event Cold Spring Harbor is the place to be Sunday,
November 2nd. A spectacular star-studded celebration will take place in
the old whaling village when everyone's favorite Westie, Corky Nightingale,
hosts her second annual Howl-ween celebration with an elite group of her
canine friends. The party is being held in honor of Corky's younger
sister, German Shepherd puppy, Maxie. "Corky was looking for a way to help
other canines who are less fortunate than her," explained Corky's mother,
Alyssa Nightingale. "When she saw the conditions her little sister had
come from she just knew that she had to make a difference in whatever small
way that she could." A percentage of proceeds raised will be donated to
support organizations focused on "rescue dogs and dogs that rescue"
including NY Animal Rescue Foundation and Town of Huntington Animal
Shelter.
Canines from all over the world are planning to participate in this chic
canine costume parade and "Paws for A Cause" festival. Spectators will
line Main Street to see canines model their finest costumes as they march
to the tune "Who Let The Dogs Out!" The parade will begin at the corner of
Main Street (25A) and Spring St. at 12 noon, ending at Cold Spring Harbor
Park where the canine celebrities will be greeted by "pupparazzi" as they
enter the park on the "Red Carpet." "I'm so excited about Howl-ween that
I can't stop my tail from wagging," said Corky, Grand Marshall of
Howl-ween.
Howl-ween afternoon activities will include:
-- Canine Costume Parade
-- Ruff, Rhythm & Blues Festival: Featuring the Tash Brothers
-- Woofstock
-- Vidog Sasson Corner: Where canines and owners can be groomed
-- Feasts for Beasts
-- Pupparazzi
-- Canine Costume Contests
According to confidential sources, the event's guest list is a "Who's Who"
of the canine world and includes Schnauzer Scooter Szcepanowski-Goldsmith
who will bring his owner, 2006/2007 Mrs. New York title holder, Lidia, to
join in on the fun and festivities. Yorkshire Terrier Brianna Rivera-Avila
will also be there with her owner, 2008 National American Miss New York
Teen Crystal Rivera-Avila.
