CrackBerry.com Announces "What Would You Do..." Contest Winners
BlackBerry Storms Awarded to Ten Over-the-Top Submissions Culled From Entries by Over 3,000 Enthusiastic CrackBerry Addicts
| Source: CrackBerry.com
INVERNESS, FL--(Marketwire - November 13, 2008) - CrackBerry.com, the number one Site for
BlackBerry users (& abusers!), today announced that proof from several of
the winning submissions for the "What Would You Do For A BlackBerry Storm"
contest are now available for viewing in the Storm Contest section of the
CrackBerry.com website (http://crackberry.com/stormcontest). There were
over 3,000 entries. The winners' "proof" videos are being posted in the
order received, with all ten appearing over the next week.
"The number of cracked-out entries that were submitted was far more than we
ever anticipated, so narrowing it down to ten deserving winners was
especially challenging," said Kevin Michaluk, CrackBerry.com's founder and
community editor. "From demonstrating extreme brand loyalty in the form of
tattoos, to some creative uses of arts & crafts, to even the type of
activities Howard Stern listeners would appreciate, there seemed to be no
boundaries to how far CrackBerry addicts would go to get their hands on a
Storm."
Winning Submissions Posted Include:
-- The Ultimate BlackBerry Storm Tattoo!
T.J. from Toledo, Ohio, had a life-size BlackBerry Storm with the
CrackBerry logo tattooed on his right calf. And just below it, he had the
words "iPhones Suck" tattooed. He noted in his entry "A tattoo IS FOREVER,
fighting a bear is only momentary."
-- So Long Palm!
Michael from West Virginia, stated that he wanted "a Storm SO bad that I
would cut my Treo in half with a reciprocating saw. Then I would drill a
hole in each half, zip tie them together, with a tag that says 'No Longer
Needed by this CrackBerry Addict.' I would then mail it to Palm's
corporate office. I'll even submit the tracking number so delivery can be
proved. I want a Storm so bad that I actually dreamed about it last night!"
-- Pudding Wrestling in Times Square!
Two Storms were awarded for this joint submission. Priscilla and Lauren of
New York City both wanted a BlackBerry Storm. So they agreed to pudding
wrestle in the middle of Times Square, NYC. Priscilla remarked, "We wanted
to do something that shows our wild side but also how much we love
BlackBerrys, CrackBerry.com, and of course NYC."
-- Run 20 Miles for a BlackBerry Storm!
Kevin Vlk, ran 20 miles, shirtless, around and through downtown Chicago in
the middle of November (38 degree weather). Painted on his chest was
"CrackBerry.com" and on his back was written, "I'm running 20 miles to win
a BlackBerry Storm from CrackBerry.com!!"
More Video "Proof" Appearing at CrackBerry.com:
Over the next week, as video and photo proof of the winning entries is
turned in, Michaluk will be adding posts to the CrackBerry.com Storm
Contest page (http://crackberry.com/stormcontest).
"The entries we received, and especially these videos, prove just how loyal
and enthusiastic the BlackBerry community is... really shaking the old
notion of the BlackBerry as an enterprise tool," said Michaluk. "I really
wish we had more Storms to give away. Special thanks to all who
participated and to the sponsors who helped make this event possible and
contributed to the difficult task of judging."
