Morris Goodman, Ali Dagher and Renee Dagher have combined their unique backgrounds and practice areas to establish a law firm representing the legal interests of a wide variety of clients -- locally, regionally and internationally.

Ali Dagher, who is of Lebanese descent, was born in Sierra Leone and lived in lived in Lebanon before immigrating to the United States in 1977. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from the University of Michigan-Dearborn and his Juris Doctorate from the University of Detroit School of Law. Dagher is also a graduate fellow of the Michigan Political Leadership Training program at Michigan State University.

Goodman, who is of Jewish descent, was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from Cornell University in New York, a Master's degree in public administration from Wayne State University and Juris Doctorate, graduating cum laude, from the University of Michigan Law School.

Renee Dagher, an Arab American, is a Michigan native and the wife of Ali Dagher. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in social science from Michigan State University, having participated in several overseas study programs to Germany, Italy and China, and earned her Juris Doctorate from the University of Detroit School of Law.

The attorneys' practice areas are also as diverse as their backgrounds.

Ali Dagher's 16 years of practice primarily involves business law, including transactional matters, for existing and newly formed sole proprietorships, general and limited liability companies and corporations that are located in Michigan and internationally. Fluent in Arabic, he is familiar with multiple aspects of trade and commerce in the Middle East and North Africa Region (MENA) and has represented clients throughout the U.S., Middle East, Europe and west coast of Africa.

Goodman has more than 30 years' experience in the general practice of law, specializing in business, municipal, criminal and family law as well as probate, litigation and trial services.

Renee Dagher concentrates her practice on immigration law. She has more than 15 years' experience involving immigrant and non-immigrant employment-based visa petitions and labor certifications, having also previously worked as an immigration coordinator and attorney for the Archdiocese of Detroit.

Although their practices and backgrounds demonstrate significant diversity, it is noteworthy that their political activities and commitment to community organizations and civic affairs brought them together.

According to Goodman, he and Ali Dagher met at the Dearborn Democratic Club in the late 1990s when Dagher was the Club's Treasurer and Goodman later served as Treasurer, Vice President and President. Both are strongly committed to progressive Democratic politics and supported President Obama from the time he announced his candidacy in 2007.

Ali Dagher is a founding member and current vice chairman of the American Arab Chamber of Commerce, a national organization based in Dearborn. He also served as a former board director of the American Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee of Greater Detroit.

Dagher has helped numerous Arab Americans get started in business, serving as an attorney and mentor. He has assisted in organizing several U.S. Arab Economic Forums, including the 2008 conference held in Washington, D.C.

Goodman has held numerous leadership positions in non-profits focused on helping Detroit neighborhoods and founded a program that helps alcoholics and addicts in Southeast Michigan achieve long-term sobriety in a residential recovery program.

Both have written numerous political articles. Dagher has been published in various journals, particularly with respect to U.S. relations in the Middle East, while Goodman is a frequent political columnist for the Dearborn Press and Guide.
