NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - March 9, 2009) - The City of Beijing, China, the China Real
Estate Association (CREA) and the International Real Estate Federation
(FIABCI) will host the 60th FIABCI World Congress and Business Meetings
addressing "Real Estate Development in the World Financial Crisis" from May
19-23, 2009 at the Beijing Hotel. Professionals from all over the world
are expected to participate in this special event which will feature
renowned speakers from around the globe.
According to Luis Fernando Correa Bahamon, FIABCI World President
2008-2009; "This is an excellent opportunity to see how the City of Beijing
and the surrounding Chinese provinces, well known for their world famous
culture and tradition, have developed into a major Asian centre for real
estate and innovation."
The theme of the World Congress will challenge real estate professionals to
engage in a dialogue on the future of realty markets in a weakened global
economy and anticipated multi-year recession. The China Real Estate
Association, in cooperation with FIABCI's Professional Division and
institutional members, is preparing a world-class program including
education seminars, marketing sessions and Beijing study tours. Elite
members from foreign and Chinese real estate circles will be in attendance
to discuss new ideas for real estate development in different regions under
the background of the current world financial crisis. During the World
Congress, FIABCI will also be installing Lisa Kurrass, Chairman of Real
Estate Connection International in Houston, Texas, as its first female
World President. "We are extremely excited that China will be hosting our
World Congress," said Correa. "Following its tremendous success hosting
the 2008 Summer Olympic Games, the world has an understanding about how
innovative the City of Beijing is and this innovative spirit is carrying
over into the Beijing real estate market adding to the excitement of our
conference program," he added.
The International Real Estate Federation, FIABCI, is an organization of
real estate professionals in 65 countries which represents more than 100
national real estate associations, over 2 million professionals, and holds
a special "consultative" status to the Economic and Social Council of the
United Nations Organization (ECOSOC). FIABCI helps members acquire
knowledge, develop networks and optimize business opportunities throughout
