ANNAPOLIS, MD--(Marketwire - April 14, 2009) - South River Technologies, Inc. (SRT), an
innovator in secure file transfer and file collaboration software, today
announced the release of Version 9.0 of its popular WebDrive Universal File
Access Client. WebDrive enables easy access to files over the Internet in a
simple, intuitive way that reduces training and support requirements and
improves end-user efficiency.
New features of WebDrive include improved support for Amazon S3. The
release also adds the ability for users to instantly see updates on
directories shared with other users.
Several security and performance enhancements have also been added to the
release, including FIPS 140-2 certification when running WebDrive over SFTP
protocol.
"As cloud computing continues to evolve, we are committed to supporting
major cloud repositories and standards," said Michael Ryan, co-founder and
CEO of South River Technologies. "WebDrive performance increases enable
single-point access to all remote resources without the typical response
time issues."
Because WebDrive maps a drive letter to remote servers, files can be edited
without the user having to download the file, save it locally, edit it
locally, and then upload the file again. WebDrive enables users to interact
with remote files the same way that they interact with files on their local
PCs.
