ALBUQUERQUE, N.M., April 15, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- AccessKey IP, Inc. (Pink Sheets:AKYI), the developer, designer and producer of advanced entertainment and communication devices, announced today that its consumer electronics subsidiary, TeknoCreations, has been notified that its TekCase for the Nintendo DS Lite has left port from China and is on its way to the U.S.
Mark Kasok, TeknoCreations Vice President of Sales and Marketing commented, "We have product on the water and scheduled to arrive in the United States in time to meet our projected launch date of early May. Immediately after clearing U.S. Customs, the product will ship out to our distributors and should shortly thereafter be available in retail stores and etailers across the U.S. and Canada." Kasok further stated, "the TekCase for the DS Lite is the first in our LINE OF TekCase and will be followed by the DSi TekCase within a couple weeks, which is ahead of schedule." The TekCase is a patent pending premium line of cases featuring product protection and will extend the battery life for the DS Lite up to 2.5 times and the DSi up to 3 times without recharging.
In industry news, CNBC.com stated, "Nintendo has sold 75 million DS units since the product launched in 2004 (and relaunched, with a streamlined version, 18 months later). Since then, the company has further broadened its audience base with the Wii, which quickly became a pop-culture phenomenon. That audience seems to trust Nintendo. DSi pre-orders at a leading chain of video game specialty stores were roughly double what the DS saw at its debut." With this established based, we expect the popularity of our TekCase line to grow rapidly.
