Phoenix Plastic Surgeons Are Experts on New TV Makeover Show
Brothers Dr. Ali Mosharrafa and Dr. Tamir Mosharrafa Star in Reality Show Starting in May
PHOENIX, AZ--(Marketwire - May 11, 2009) - Brothers and fellow board certified plastic
surgeons Dr. Ali Mosharrafa and Dr. Tamir Mosharrafa have major roles in a
new television makeover reality program "The Beauty Show," which premieres
on Tuesday, May 26 on the ION Television Network. The Arizona-based
production team held contestant screenings and selected two Phoenix women
to undergo plastic surgery. The winners also received other services
including cosmetic dentistry, skin care, make-up, fitness, hair styling and
wardrobe consultation.
The premise of the show is to document the progress of the two women during
their six weeks of transformation. Each woman is assigned a team of beauty
experts with Dr. Ali Mosharrafa and Dr. Tamir Mosharrafa working on
different teams. Each surgeon performed body contouring and facial
procedures specific to each patient's needs to enhance their natural
features.
"I would only take part in a show I believe was worthwhile and it had to be
realistic and of the highest quality to promote plastic surgery instead of
those who perform it," said Ali Mosharrafa, former Chief Plastic Surgeon at
Phoenix's Good Samaritan Hospital. "This show is very educational and will
empower women to make the right medical decisions for their selves."
"The Beauty Show" Season One will be a weekly half-hour show airing 10:30AM
to 11:00AM on the Phoenix ION Network Cox Cable Channel 17 and Direct TV's
Channel 51 beginning Tuesday, May 26, 2009. The show is currently in
consideration for national syndication for all ION stations in the U.S. and
eventually overseas.
"'The Beauty Show' is unlike any other makeover reality show because it is
not sensationalized, it is genuine and informative about two women who
overcame great personal odds and are deserving of a complete makeover,"
said Maria Camille, executive producer, A Big Production Company. "I think
viewers will warmly connect with the women and will learn much from our
teams of beauty experts."
Currently the production crew is in Phoenix shooting video for Season Two
as it follows the progress of new contestant winners. A screening for new
contestants for Season Three will be held in the fall. Both doctors will
be performing the plastic surgery for their respective patients for all
three seasons.
"Though my brother and I are on different teams, it's not a contest with
winners or losers," said Dr. Tamir Mosharrafa. "This show allows experts
from several fields to use their skills to help each woman complete a
transformation that is far more significant than just a physical change.
These women are an inspiration to us all and everyone comes out a winner."
Dr. Ali Mosharrafa has been in practice in Phoenix for 12 years and voted
by his fellow plastic surgeons as a "Top Doc" for the 7th year. Dr. Tamir
Mosharrafa has been in practice in Phoenix for five years and was voted by
his peers, as well, as a "Top Doc" in 2009. Both surgeons earned their
undergraduate degree with Honors from the University of Texas and received
their medical training at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. Dr.
Ali Mosharrafa completed his general and plastic surgery residencies at
Baylor while the younger brother, Dr. Tamir Mosharrafa, continued his
general surgery and plastic surgery residencies at the University of
Kentucky. Both physicians are board certified by the American Board of
Plastic Surgeons and members of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.
Both are highly regarded in the medical community as experts in breast
surgery, body contouring and facial rejuvenation. For more information
