SPOT Congratulates Singapore Women's Everest Team On Historic Achievement

SPOT Satellite GPS Messenger Used by Remote Climbers On Everest Including the World's First Singaporean Women to Reach Its Summit

MILPITAS, Calif., May 26, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Today SPOT LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Globalstar Inc. (Nasdaq:GSAT) recognizes the Singapore Women's Everest Team and congratulates them on their recent summit ascent of Mt. Everest. Equipped with the SPOT Satellite GPS Messenger(tm), provided by Singapore Telecommunications Limited (SingTel), Asia's leading communications group, the team became the first Singaporean women to reach the top of Everest, the tallest mountain on Earth at 8859 meters.

According to news sources, three of the team's members, Lee Li Hui, Esther Tan and Jane Lee, reached the summit in the early morning hours of May 19th. Other climbers sharing the summit with them included U.S. Astronaut and SPOT sponsored mountaineer Dr. Scott Parazynski. On the morning of May 22nd, two other members of the Singapore Women's team, Joanne Soo and Lee Peh Gee, also successfully reached Everest's summit.

The SPOT Satellite GPS Messengers allowed team members to send messages to stay connected with others while on Everest. SPOT enables climbers to send signals via satellite providing location data and status updates to contacts or to ask for assistance in case of emergencies.

"Congratulations to the Singapore Women's Everest Team for their successful and historic summit climb," said Darren Bassel, director of global marketing for SPOT LLC. "They have been training very hard for this opportunity and now the world is celebrating with them. We are pleased that SingTel provided the team with SPOT and proud that it helped provide remote communication and peace of mind while they pursued their adventure."

The SPOT Satellite GPS Messenger(tm) is a personal satellite-based messaging and emergency communications device that transmits GPS location coordinates and status messages over a global satellite network to a list of personal contacts or an emergency response center.
