MuleSource's Ross Mason Named as InfoWorld Top 25 CTO for 2009
MuleSource Co-Founder and CTO Recognized for Industry Leadership in the InfoWorld CTO 25 Awards

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire - June 2, 2009) - MuleSource, the leading provider of open
source service oriented
architecture (SOA) infrastructure software, today announced that Ross
Mason, Co-founder and CTO of MuleSource, has been named to IDG's InfoWorld
CTO 25, an honor bestowed upon senior IT executives who have demonstrated
leadership within their companies and in the IT community.
"It's an honor to be recognized as one of the technology industry's top
executives by InfoWorld. This award is really a testament to the incredible
success of MuleSource," said Mason. "We are proud that Mule ESB and Mule Galaxy are
receiving recognition from a leading IT publication for their lightweight
simplicity, delivering functionality that development teams really need,
rather than following the crowd with check-box features."
Mason founded the open source Mule project in 2003. Frustrated by
integration "donkey work," he set out to create a new platform that
emphasized ease of development and re-use of components. He started the
Mule project to bring a modern approach, one of assembly, rather than
repetitive coding, to developers worldwide. Mason founded MuleSource in
2006 to provide enterprise-class software, services and support to the
thousands of organizations using Mule.
"The diversity of challenges that a CTO faces was very evident in this
year's InfoWorld CTO 25 entries. But what was common across the 25 CTOs we
chose as the year's top CTOs was a combination of management savvy,
technological insight, and the ability to lead a team to success even in
difficult circumstances," said Galen Gruman, Executive Editor/News and
Features, InfoWorld. "This year's honorees reinvented untenable legacies,
provided game-changing insight, and managed both their own teams and key
organization stakeholders to make their businesses succeed through the use
of technology. Our honorees did much more than implement technology well;
they brought its use to a new level."
Each year, InfoWorld honors IT executives who have shown leadership both
inside and outside their companies. Nominations are reviewed and winners
selected by the InfoWorld executive editorial team. The InfoWorld CTO 25
feature, including InfoWorld's expert reporting and analysis, appears
