Scalix Implements ActiveSync for Enhanced Mobile User Experience

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - June 16, 2009) - Scalix, the award-winning Linux email, group calendaring, and messaging subsidiary of Xandros, Inc., today released Scalix ActiveSync 1.0, implementing Microsoft's Exchange ActiveSync Protocol for enhanced message synchronization over wireless networks. The protocol, provided as part of an expanded Microsoft-Xandros messaging protocol license and collaboration agreement, assures superior long-term interoperability with Microsoft and others over comparable reverse-engineered and patent infringing solutions. Also released today is the new Scalix Server 11.4.4, with over 200 improvements and Outlook client support for 64-bit version of Windows Vista.

Scalix ActiveSync 1.0 provides push email as well as wireless calendar and contact synchronization. It supports a huge variety of mobile devices supporting the ActiveSync industry standard including Apple's iPhone, Microsoft Windows Mobile-based devices, and Symbian-based phones, such as Nokia's E- and N-Series.
