REDWOOD CITY, CA--(Marketwire - June 29, 2009) - MokaFive today announced the addition
of James "Jimmy" Nicholas to their executive team as vice president of
business development. In his new role, Nicholas will oversee the expansion
of the MokaFive partner ecosystem including strategic technology and
service providers.
Nicholas brings more than 14 years of experience as a venture capital
investor and entrepreneur, with expertise in operations and finance, as
well as a deep understanding of channel and partner ecosystems in the
software arena. He has a broad background in developing strategic
partnerships at high growth, venture-backed software companies from
inception through acquisition.
"MokaFive has a unique opportunity for growth given the increasing demands
for security and flexibility in enterprise computing combined with the need
for an economical solution," said Jimmy Nicholas. "I look forward to
applying my experience to the aggressive expansion of MokaFive's partner
network, helping to satisfy customer demand for the company's innovative
Desktop-as-a-Service platform."
Most recently, Nicholas served as director at TriplePoint Capital as a
member of the firm's Equity Investment and Sponsor Coverage Groups where he
originated venture transactions and managed the firm's relationships with
select venture partners. Prior to TriplePoint Capital, Nicholas founded
Transparence, Inc., a leading provider of response management and
decision-support software for First Responders and Homeland Security
personnel, and continues to serve as the company's chairman of the board.
Prior to Transparence, Nicholas served as a director at Princeton Capital,
a venture firm focused on early stage investments in startup companies
developing next generation technologies, applications and services for the
digital media, Internet and communications industries. While at Princeton,
Nicholas served as the CEO of Oxford Media Corporation (acquired by eSynch
Corporation), a digital video technology and services company.
Nicholas received his Bachelor of Arts magna cum laude from Brown
University and received a General Course Graduate Studies Diploma from the
London School of Economics. He holds multiple patents for software systems
and methods.
"MokaFive's Desktop-as-a-Service platform is ideal for service providers
seeking to answer the growing demand for enterprise desktop solutions,"
said Dale Fuller, CEO of MokaFive. "In his role of vice president, Jimmy
will help define our go-to-market strategy and maximize the footprint of
MokaFive Suite, leveraging his experience building successful business
development relationships to create valuable new opportunities for MokaFive
and its partners."
Jimmy Nicholas's addition to MokaFive rounds out the senior leadership
team. He joins co-founders Monica Lam, Constantine Sapuntzakis, Ramesh
Chandra and John Whaley, CTO, whose research at Stanford's computer science
department inspired MokaFive's technology. CEO Dale Fuller was most
recently interim CEO of McAfee and CEO of Borland. Vice President of Sales
Ravi Khatod was previously at IronPort Systems (acquired by Cisco Systems),
