ENVIRON Announces Acquisition of Brazilian Consultancy ARQUIPÉLAGO

ARLINGTON, VA--(Marketwire - August 20, 2009) - Ewire -- Stephen T. Washburn, CEO of ENVIRON Holdings, Inc. (ENVIRON), and Ralf Lattouf, Founder and President of ARQUIPÉLAGO Engenharia Ambiental Ltda. (Arquipélago), have announced the acquisition of ARQUIPÉLAGO by ENVIRON -- resulting in the international health and environmental sciences consulting firm's first offices in Latin America. Effective immediately, ARQUIPÉLAGO will conduct business as ENVIRON ARQUIPÉLAGO.

Founded in 1998, ARQUIPÉLAGO has two offices (in São Paulo and Valinhos, Brazil) and a staff of approximately 30 professionals who provide technical and strategic assistance over a range of complementary practice areas, including environmental engineering, environmental site assessments, site remediation, and sustainability consulting. Like ENVIRON, ARQUIPÉLAGO's success has been based on proactively identifying client needs and focusing on technical excellence, responsiveness and problem-solving to meet those needs.
