Deeter Electronics Makes Sense of Float Level Switches and Float Level Sensors
| Source: Deeter Electronics
TALLMADGE, OH--(Marketwire - September 3, 2009) - The Deeter Wireless Sensor System (DWSS) is
primarily designed to provide a wireless link between level sensors and
control systems or indicators. The level sensors can be anything from a
simple float switch (liquid
level sensors or liquid
level controls), to one of the Deeter continuous level sensors.
In fact, the input can be from any sensor with a switched output or 4-20mA
current-loop output, as used for monitoring a vast range of sensors in many
industrial, or even domestic, control systems.
The Deeter Wireless Sensor
System comprises four devices: two Sensors, a Repeater and a
Base-Station. A minimum system would consist of one Sensor and one
Base-Station, but can be expanded to include many Sensors communicating
with a
Base-Station. A Repeater or several Repeaters may be required in some
installations to extend the radio signal range or improve communications
reliability. The Deeter Wireless System enables you to multiplex a number
of sensor inputs which allows you to control and indicate a whole range of
sensors through one system.
Wireless Liquid Vertical Continuous Sensor (WLVCS). The WLVCS is a
continuous liquid level
sensor which allows you to monitor liquid level over a certain length
using a ball float around a stem. This sensor manufactured from 316L
stainless steel. Standard sensing lengths are 250mm, 500mm, 750mm and 1m
(custom lengths are available on request). The radio circuit is housed in
an IP67 rated alloy head with an external antenna. The WLVCS is battery
powered with a battery life greater than one year (subject to various
conditions of use).
Wireless Level Sensor (WLS). The WLS has a range of inputs including inputs
for 4 float switches, a Deeter continuous level sensor input, and a 4-20mA
current-loop. The WLS can be powered by an external power-supply, internal
battery, or by the 4-20mA current-loop circuit it is sensing. The WLS is
housed in an IP65 rated ABS enclosure with an external antenna and cable
glands for power and signal inputs.
Wireless Sensor System Repeater (WSSR). The WSSR is housed in an IP65 rated
ABS enclosure with an external antenna and a cable gland for power input
from an external 5V power supply.
Wireless Sensor System Base-Station (WSSB). The WSSB is housed in an IP65
rated ABS enclosure with transparent lid. It has an external antenna and
cable glands for power input and signal outputs. The full range of outputs
is available, as described above. The WSSB has 3 push-button switches and a
2-line by 16-character LCD display, used to select a variety of options
during initial setup. The display also provides information during normal
operation and can be viewed through the transparent lid.
