BOSTON, MA--(Marketwire - September 24, 2009) - uTest, the world's largest
software testing marketplace, today
launched Version 2.6 of its platform, which includes a dramatically
improved tester profile. This new version will enable uTest to more
precisely match customers'
web,
desktop, and
mobile
app testing needs with the right members of its global QA community.
The uTester community also benefits from this update as testers can more
accurately define for which types of projects they are best suited.
After capturing basic demographic information (location, age, gender,
languages, experience), the new profile enables testers to define their
hardware/software, experience and skills, including:
- Web & Desktop Devices: Testers add their computer(s), such as OS
version & language, firewall, anti-malware; and specify their web
browser(s), including IE, Firefox, Chrome, etc.
- Mobile, Gaming & Other Devices: Testers specify their mobile
handset maker, handset model, OS, and wireless carrier; and denote gaming
consoles, audio players and digital readers
- Automated Testing Tools: Testers select which automated tools
they have experience using (e.g. TestComplete, jMeter, QTP, Selenium,
ClearQuest, etc.)
- Coding Languages: Testers specify which coding languages they
have experience using (e.g. Java, Flash, Ruby, C++, .NET, Python, ASP,
etc.)
- Industry Experience, Interests & Hobbies: Testers detail
application experience by industry (e.g. finance, retail, e-commerce, etc.)
and interests/hobbies (e.g. arts, sports, stocks, etc.)
"As our customers' applications become more varied and sophisticated, so
too do their requests for testers with specific criteria, such as handsets,
languages, locations and industry expertise," said Doron Reuveni, uTest
CEO. "With our revamped tester profiles, uTest makes it even easier for
web, desktop, and mobile customers to find the right testers in real time.
This is a major leap forward for uTest and further extends our leadership
in human software testing."
