DETROIT, MI--(Marketwire - September 30, 2009) - In his recent monthly radio broadcast on WVSN
Industry Visions, Jim Newman, nationally recognized expert in energy
conservation and green and sustainable construction, says, "The money
earmarked for the American resource and recovery act will arrive in a huge
number of American communities." Newman, known as the Dean of Green, hosts
a monthly radio show on WVSN Industry Visions, educating industry and
commercial business in the ways of green energy efficiency.
Newman cited some of the specific amounts of money that will be targeted
for various projects, and said, "The arrival is slow, but the money will
get here."
When asked how the money will be distributed, Newman said, "The money will
arrive at the state level and be distributed down to local communities and
to individual home owners."
When asked for a specific breakdown, Newman quoted seven different areas
that would receive green stimulus money. State energy programs will be
given $3.1 billion, low-income homes will receive weatherization assistance
of up to $5 billion, energy efficiency and conservation block grants as
well as energy conservation bonds will each receive $3.2 billion, assisted
housing is gaining $1.76 billion, and green schools and federal buildings
gaining $8.5 billion.
The Newman Consulting Group, with world headquarters in Bloomfield Hills,
Michigan advises people to beware of "Greenwashing," which is an attempt by
unscrupulous entities to imitate a green product or system that isn't truly
green. "There's never been a time in American history when energy
conservation has been such a huge issue. With the amount of money that will
be available, there's bound to be a number of people and companies
springing up to make a quick buck. Make sure you check the backgrounds of
whomever you will be involved with to get references beforehand," Newman
stated.
