(OTCBB:COYN), a software technology provider to law enforcement and emergency service professionals, is pleased to report that the La Salle County Sheriff's office has entered into a contract with COPsync for the implementation and use of the Company's real-time data collection and information sharing software in the County's patrol vehicles. La Salle County received a grant to implement COPsync(TM) under the Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) program which awards grants to law enforcement agencies to hire and train community policing professionals, acquire and deploy cutting-edge crime-fighting technologies, and develop and test innovative policing strategies. Since 1994, the COPS Office has invested more than $12 billion to add community policing officers, enhance crime fighting technology and support crime prevention initiatives.

La Salle County is in the Southwest Border HIDTA (High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area). The HIDTA Program helps improve the effectiveness and efficiency of drug control efforts by facilitating cooperation between drug control organizations through resource and information sharing, collocating and implementing joint initiatives. The counties in the Southwest Border HIDTA are Bexar, Cameron, Dimmit, Hidalgo, Jim Hogg, Kinney, La Salle, Starr, Maverick, Val Verde, Webb, Willacy, Zapata, and Zavala counties. Interstate Highway 35 has been declared a major narcotics and human smuggling route into the United States. It is the primary north-south route that affects drug transportation from the Southwest Border HIDTA into the North Texas HIDTA. Law enforcement agencies on these routes would benefit greatly from the COPsync platform which would enable these agencies to work together to curtail narcotics and human smuggling activities.
Additionally, La Salle County is contiguous to Webb and McMullen Counties. Webb and McMullen counties are both utilizing COPsync and both participated in Operation Border Star, the program initiated by the Governor's Office to curtail illegal immigration and the crime associated with it. To date COPsync has successfully assisted its clients in applying for over ten million dollars in Federal and State Grant Funds specifically written to fund the implementation of the COPsync technology.
