BEVERLY HILLS, CA--(Marketwire - October 19, 2009) - Ewire -- Salon City, Inc. (PINKSHEETS : SALN ) announced that TV actress, Kayla Ewell, who plays Vicki Donavan on
The CW's popular show "Vampire Diaries" is starring on October's cover of
BE! (Beauty Entertainment) Magazine. Kayla is the second Hollywood
celebrity to grace the cover of Beauty Entertainment, Salon City's new
monthly print and online publication that premiered this fall.
"The Vampire Diaries" is an American supernatural-fantasy horror television
series. The series premiered on The CW on September 10, 2009, filling the
network's previous "Smallville" slot, and on CTV. The show will premiere in
early 2010 on ITV2 in the UK and from December 2009 on Mya in Italy. The
show began airing on GO! in Australia on September 28 2009. "Vampire
Diaries" had one of the strongest openings in the history of The CW Network
and the show continues to garner strong ratings.
In the pilot for "The Vampire Diaries," Kayla's character, Vicki Donovan,
gets bitten savagely on the neck during a big bonfire sequence, an
occurrence that the actress describes as "a turning point." Is this just
punishment for Vicki's to-the-bone badness? Kayla's not talking.
During her Beauty Entertainment interview Kayla reveals, "Our series is
filled with love, mystery, sex and an unquenchable longing for something
that's just over the other side. That is the allure of the vampire." Famed
Hollywood photographer John Russo shot Ewell for BE!'s cover and feature.
Steven and Annie Casciola, Salon City founders and publishers, explained
why they chose Ewell for BE!'s second cover, "Kayla is alluring and she has
a magnetic beauty that makes you want to keep looking at her. She's
gorgeous inside and out and readers recognize that she's become one of
Hollywood's hottest young actresses."
Steven Casciola added, "We're picking shows like 'Vampire Diaries' because
they connect with BE!'s salon audience and demographic. People want to see
BE!'s personal style, beauty and entertainment -- in colorful layouts and
action pages -- and Kayla and 'Vampire Diaries' deliver that and more."
