NASHVILLE, TN--(Marketwire - December 1, 2009) - While 2009 brought economic doom and gloom to
many businesses, Standard Functional Foods Group flourished by focusing on
customer needs this year.
Standard Functional Foods Group, a manufacturer of nutritional bars and
healthy snacks, works with dozens of major food companies to develop a wide
variety of organic, meal-replacement, functional foods and sports nutrition
products.
"Our quick proactive response to clients and staying focused on their needs
in addition to investing in our company was instrumental to our growth this
year," says Bryan Lewis, director of business development for Standard
Functional Foods Group.
The privately owned, family company was established over 100 years ago and
has been managed by the Spradley family for nearly 30 years. Lewis says
reinvesting revenue has been a key to the company's stability.
This year, Standard Functional Foods Group went through a consolidation and
expansion to keep business growing. By expanding its headquarters in
Nashville, Standard Functional Foods Group added two production lines,
increased plant size by 50 percent more square footage, added 250
additional jobs and doubled the size of its research and development team
this year.
"We are very focused on the relationships we have with our customers and
our employees," says Lewis. "It's the relationships that drive our
business decisions, which in turn brings us much success."
Standard Functional Foods Group is now also part of the Global Food Safety
Initiative's Safe Quality Food (SQF) program, offering an Excellent Rating
Certification to its clientele that is now required of suppliers who have
products in Wal-Mart and many other national chains.
