Axxana Phoenix System(TM) RP Enterprise Data Recorder (EDR) to Be Available Through EMC(R) Select

Axxana's Phoenix System RP EDR Provides Customers With a Zero Data Loss, Unlimited Distance, Low-Cost Data Protection Solution

TEL-AVIV, ISRAEL--(Marketwire - December 7, 2009) - Axxana today announced that its Phoenix System™ RP Enterprise Data Recorder (EDR) will be available in January 2010 through EMC® Select, a program which helps customers easily acquire components that comprise an information infrastructure. The Axxana Phoenix System RP EDR complements EMC RecoverPoint™ and EMC CLARiiON® networked storage systems, together providing customers with the ability to achieve a zero RPO (Recovery Point Objective) over any geographical distance. Customers benefit from significant cost savings and enhanced data protection over an unlimited distance.

EMC RecoverPoint sends data asynchronously to remote sites, while the Phoenix System RP EDR solution protects a synchronous copy of information inside a disaster-proof "black box" device at the primary site. The black box is designed to survive nearly any threat. Following the disaster, Phoenix enables rapid extraction of the protected data and transmission to the remote site, where the recovered information is reintegrated by EMC RecoverPoint, with the asynchronous remote copy yielding an exact mirror image of the data in the primary data center.

"Axxana's Phoenix System will allow customers using RecoverPoint and CLARiiON networked storage to utilize replication over any distance, while maintaining the ability to recover data without data loss," said Matt Mainstruck, manager of EMC Select. "Zero RPO is a key disaster recovery metric for many customer environments that require long-distance remote replication -- eliminating the risk of data loss."

The Phoenix System RP EDR was tested with EMC RecoverPoint in a SAN environment by the EMC E-Lab. The EMC E-Lab conducts the industry's most rigorous interoperability testing, spanning every major platform and operating system. In the process, EMC E-Lab creates a deep pool of knowledge about complete environments as well as about every individual component of the solution.

"Axxana's unique and innovative approach to disaster recovery already makes us an exceptional complement for EMC RecoverPoint," said Eli Efrat, Axxana's Chief Executive Officer. "Axxana's solution offers customers the ability to blend the full data-recovery advantages of synchronous replication with the distance and cost advantages of asynchronous replication."

The Axxana Phoenix System RP EDR was first demonstrated at EMC World in May 2009. The Axxana Phoenix System RP is available in January 2010 through EMC Select.
