Carbon Sciences' Proprietary CO2-to-Fuel Process Gains Additional Media Attention
EnergyBiz Insider and Energy Efficiency Markets Explore Concept of Carbon Capture and Recycling (CCR)
| Source: Carbon Sciences Inc.
SANTA BARBARA, CA--(Marketwire - December 17, 2009) - Carbon Sciences Inc. (OTCBB : CABN ), the
developer of a breakthrough technology to recycle carbon dioxide (CO2)
emissions into gasoline and other portable fuels, reported today that two
prominent energy outlets -- EnergyBiz Insider and Energy Efficiency Markets
-- reported on the benefits of Carbon Sciences' novel process that converts
CO2 waste streams from large carbon emitting power plants into fuel.
"As the debate over CO2 emissions escalates globally, reporters like the
talented professionals at EnergyBiz Insider and Energy Efficiency Markets
are working diligently to report on all the possible solutions to our
energy and environment concerns outside what has traditionally been
discussed," said Byron Elton, CEO, Carbon Sciences Inc.
In Part I of the multi-series podcast titled, "Capturing Carbon Dioxide &
Recycling It" (http://bit.ly/7w3rlV), Reporter Lisa Cohn of Energy
Efficiency Markets draws contrast between carbon capture and sequestration
(CCS) technology versus Carbon Sciences' work repurposing and recycling
CO2. Elton offers the idea, "Carbon Sciences technology is a little bit of
a departure from some of the traditional conversation being had...
Typically, the conversation tends to revolve around CCS... but we, along
with a lot of other people, think there are significant hurdles surrounding
that technology. Our principle charge at Carbon Sciences is not to debunk
the sequestration strategy but rather to introduce another solution, and
that is recycling."
With momentum building around the CO2 recycling sector, EnergyBiz Insider's
Editor-in-Chief, Ken Silverstein, notes in his article, "Reinventing Carbon
Dioxide" (http://bit.ly/7kljNv), countries are acknowledging the need for
innovative and compelling new technologies. "Lately, carbon recycling has
come to fore as multiple global companies have applied for patents... the
Obama administration has included the recycling of carbon dioxide as part
of its clean coal efforts under the previously enacted stimulus plan."
In August, Carbon Sciences applied for the cited energy grant from the
Department of Energy for the "innovative concepts for the beneficial use of
CO2." While the Company has not yet received notice on whether they will be
receiving federal funding, they continue to make advancements in the
laboratory that increase the energy efficiency of the CO2-to-Fuel process.
About Carbon Sciences Inc.
Carbon Sciences Inc. is developing a breakthrough technology to recycle
carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions into the basic fuel building blocks required
to produce gasoline, diesel fuel, jet fuel and other fuels. Innovating at
the intersection of chemical engineering and bio-engineering disciplines,
we are developing a highly scalable biocatalytic process to meet the fuel
needs of the world. Our solution to energy and climate challenges is to
enable a sustainable world of fuel consumption and climate stability by
recycling CO2 into fuel. For example, Carbon Sciences' breakthrough
technology can be used to recycle CO2 emitted from fossil fuel power plants
into gasoline to run cars and jet fuel to fly aircraft. To learn more about
