SmallCapSentinel.com: A Port of Entry

LAS VEGAS, Jan. 19, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- All deals, agreements, and tests are not created equal. In addition to the obvious differences in terms and dollars, many deals are simply what they intrinsically are, a sale and/or a service delivered by a company for a price. Ideally, revenue is enjoyed by the provider and the company is usually the better for the business.

And then there are deals that portend a brighter future, convey to others on the fence a sense of aptitude, and could indeed be seen as catalytic or breakthrough, worth more than the sum of its parts. For an emerging company with a unique hybrid technology trying to be heard over a chorus of pretenders shouting similarly themed rhetoric and hyperbole, a deal with the massive Port of Los Angeles may well be seen as the company’s own port of entry.

In an announcement last week, the Port of Los Angeles reported that it has entered into negotiations with Los Angeles-based Vision Industries (OTCBB:VIIC) for the purchase and evaluation of Vision’s zero-emission hydrogen fuel cell hybrid-electric trucks.  The heavy-duty big-rigs will be tested to evaluate their suitability for short and medium distance cargo-hauling operations, and other similar applications. It should be noted that Vision previously announced that package delivery giant FedEx is also  testing a truck produced by Vision Industries.

These are critical steps in securing the goodwill toward cleaner vehicles that is presently ambient in government and the corporate world. It’s clear elements within both markets want to be greener. But amid a cacophony by companies with hopes and dreams of a) developing a better mousetrap or b) getting in the doors of FedEx or the Port of Los Angeles, Vision Industry has already done so, setting the tone for investors to eagerly await the results of these initial tests.

If successful, the future brightens exponentially for Vision which may some day view this as a seminal moment to acceptance and perhaps prosperity.
