ORANGE, CA--(Marketwire - January 20, 2010) - M86
Security, a global provider of Web and messaging security products,
today announced it has been positioned by Gartner, Inc. in the Visionaries
quadrant of the research firm's recently published report on Secure Web
Gateway (SWG).(1) The report evaluates 17 vendors.
According to Gartner, "The secure Web gateway market continues to
experience solid growth as enterprise customers scramble to improve
defenses from an increasingly hostile Internet and safely use increasingly
interactive Web applications." The report adds that the "secure Web
gateway is a critical tool for protecting endpoints from various forms of
malware and other security risks, and for monitoring and controlling
potentially dangerous Web traffic."
"We are pleased to be recognized as a Visionary in Gartner's SWG report,"
said William Kilmer, Chief Marketing Officer, M86 Security. "Secure Web
Gateway appliances provide a critical means of protecting a wide range of
organizations from Web-based threats. As the largest vendor of Web security
appliances, our products safeguard companies from online threats including
Trojans, spyware, scareware, botnets, blended threats and other malware.
With the acquired technology from Finjan, we offer our customers enhanced
protection that includes active real-time content inspection and code
analysis technology as well as anti-crimeware and anti-malware technology
to protect against malware specialized to penetrate Web 2.0 technologies."
The addition of the Finjan Secure Web Gateway to the M86 product line last year
rounds out M86's security offerings for Web security by including appliance
and software offerings. M86's acquisition of Finjan establishes the company
as the largest Web security appliance vendor based on revenue. (li)
