Echo360 Announces 2nd Annual Grants Program for Lecture Capture Research

DULLES, VA--(Marketwire - March 9, 2010) - Echo360, higher education's first choice for reliving the classroom experience on demand, today announced it is accepting applications for the 2010 Echo360 Research Grants Program. Now in its second year, it is the only international research program that provides financial support for institutions to quantify the impact of lecture capture on teaching and learning.

The program contributes to the rapidly expanding library of knowledge surrounding the explosive worldwide adoption of lecture capture. "As lecture capture technology assumes a mission-critical role in the delivery of education, the higher education community is looking to quantify the benefits," explains Jocasta Williams, Echo360 community manager. "The research from this program offers insights to teachers and administrators for using lecture capture to enhance the quality of education delivered to their students."

The call for applications begins on March 9, 2010 and the submission deadline is July 2, 2010. In August, the judges will select four winning proposals and award $40,000 in grants for the projects. The judges panel will include:

    Coventry University, United Kingdom

Winning proposals from 2009 include topics relating lecture capture to learning designs, study behaviors, teaching approaches and delivery of lectures in trilingual environments. The four proposals can be read in their entirety at www.lecturecapture.com.
