Tactical Communications Group and Saab Announce Successful Ground Command and Control System Deployments

TEWKSBURY, MA--(Marketwire - March 15, 2010) -  Tactical Communications Group (TCG) (www.g2tcg.com), the leading independent supplier of tactical data link ("TDL") software solutions for military test, training and operational users worldwide, and Saab, a global provider of world class, innovative defense solutions, today announced successful deployments of Saab's highly scalable command and control ("C2") solution incorporating TCG's LinkPRO™ tactical data link processing engine. This combined solution has now been successfully fielded multiple times, and is being used to provide secure, fully-integrated operational ground C2 solutions for countries in Northern Europe and Asia Pacific.

Historically, comprehensive and fully-integrated ground C2 systems have taken years to develop and deploy, have not been designed to easily accommodate future military communication requirements or growth, have been very expensive for countries to procure, and have been extremely complex for users to operate.

Saab's C2 solution, which incorporates TCG's LinkPRO™ tactical data link software, is uniquely capable of meeting today's new requirements for secure, fully-integrated, state-of-the-art military communication systems which can be quickly fielded on a cost-effective basis. The joint Saab-TCG solution can be rapidly deployed, is easy to use, and is modular and scalable. The new Saab-TCG C2 solution also utilizes an open architecture which can be easily updated for new military communication methodologies, providing countries with the capability for future growth. This combined solution has uniquely filled the acute market need for next-generation C2 solutions which are complete, cost effective, easy to use and can be fielded quickly, as evidenced by these new operational C2 systems now in use in countries in Northern Europe and Asia-Pacific.

"Following considerable diligence on competing TDL solutions, we have been working closely with TCG for several years now, and providing solutions for our military customers which support secure, complex-yet-flexible, ground C2 solutions which incorporate tactical communications capabilities. We are very pleased with the recent successful fielding of our combined C2 system in these countries. We are also pleased with our strong partnership with TCG, and we look forward to continued market success with TCG," said Per-Anders Nilsson, Product Manager, Saab Systems, Sweden.

"Saab offers truly compelling and differentiated state-of-the art command and control solutions to military organizations worldwide," said Marty McDonough, President and CEO of TCG. "We are pleased to have our LinkPRO™ software be part of their modular, scalable C2 solution. Saab Systems has been a very important partner for TCG in the past, the prospective opportunities for the combined Saab-TCG operational product are considerable, and we are very excited about continuing to team with Saab for the many large C2 and ISR opportunities on the horizon."
