ORLANDO, FL--(Marketwire - March 22, 2010) - VoiceCon, Nectar Booth #1322 -- Nectar Services Corp., a leading software firm specializing in IP communications and managed services, and a wholly owned subsidiary of Juma Technology (
Nectar's new Virtual Session Border Controller service (vSBC) delivers a fully functional, hosted Session Border Controller with a simple and intuitive web-management portal. This software-as-a-service platform offers the enterprise an alternative way to purchase, deploy and administer costly and complex Session Border Controller equipment.
In addition to eliminating upfront equipment expenses, the Nectar management portal enables clients to seamlessly manage the complex functions of both Session Border Controllers and carrier services.
"There is enormous value and cost savings associated with the transition from TDM trunks to SIP, but there are also a lot of roadblocks on the path to deployment," said Joe Fuccillo, Chief Technology Officer for Nectar Services. "We know those barriers because our customers have lived through them. With our vSBC offering, Nectar removes the barriers. We make the transition to an enterprise SIP architecture easy and affordable with our enabling software solution."
Fuccillo noted the extensive process of purchasing and programming Session Border Controllers, performing carrier interoperability testing, analyzing phone number portability, programming intelligent routing patterns and handling usage and billing across an enterprise; all of which traditionally require enormous upfront expenses, extensive professional services and months to deploy. The Nectar vSBC platform removes these hurdles and provides a smooth path to enterprise SIP.
"The benefits of a SIP-enabled converged WAN are indisputable. Enterprise organizations stand to drive tremendous costs out of their budget while operating so much more efficiently. The challenge lies in getting there. With Nectar, we've already done the leg work so that our clients can simply enjoy those benefits," said Fuccillo.
The Nectar platform has the ability to unify multiple locations and connect disparate systems to drastically reduce monthly telecom charges by delivering free on-net calling, least-cost routing and a reduction in trunk lines.
Carl Baptiste, Nectar's Vice-President of Product Management, said Nectar's "SIP Made Easy" solution is a home run for enterprise organizations.
"The Nectar vSBC hosted model allows an enterprise to be up and running with the full functionality of a Session Border Controller in a matter of days and at a fraction of the cost," said Baptiste. "Plus, by fully supporting both H.323 and SIP protocols, we provide a true migration path to a fully converged SIP network that supports legacy protocols; clearing the path for unified communications."
