Gene and the People Power Band are scheduled to play on the National Mall as part of the official week long celebration of Earth Day in Washington D.C. Decorated to encourage people to ''Unplug it!' to reduce energy waste, the People Power Bandwagon will emit three times less carbon pollution as compared to flying.

People Power estimates that if a typical home unplugged its discretionary appliances for eight hours a day for a year, the home owner would remove 6,700 lbs of carbon out of the air -- equivalent to taking 250 cars off the road. The Company says by producing just 20 percent energy savings for U.S. households, consumers would save over $32 billion a year and carbon emissions would be reduced by 187 mega tons -- equivalent to taking 40 million cars off the road for an entire year.
The People Power Band will perform on the National Mall on the Earth Day Network's 40th Anniversary Stage on Saturday, April 17 at 3:20pm EDT. As part of this special 40th Anniversary celebration, Wang has written and will perform the song Happy Birthday Mother Earth available for free download.
