FITZGERALD, GA--(Marketwire - April 21, 2010) - Enviro-Log®, Inc., an eco-friendly, consumer products and recycling company, announced today it will be participating in a Whole Foods Market® Earth Day Celebration being held at the Whole Foods Market distribution center located at 211 BDC Parkway in Braselton, Georgia on April 24th from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Enviro-Log will be showcasing its earth-friendly firelogs and educating the public on the benefits of recycling.
This fun-filled day will feature events for people of all ages and include a "kid zone," which will feature inflatables, games, planting classes and a healthy eating seminar. The Earth Day event will also include festival food and car wash, and all proceeds from the event will go do directly to the Whole Planet Foundation®, a private nonprofit organization founded by Whole Foods Market, which creates economic partnerships with the poor in developing-world communities that supply Whole Foods stores with product. More information on the Whole Planet Foundation can be found at www.wholeplanetfoundation.org.
"Our goal for this Earth Day event is to help educate our team members, customers and the local community about programs and initiatives that Whole Foods Market and its vendors take on to help protect our environment," said Mike Hardy, facility team leader of south region distribution center at Whole Foods Market. "Enviro-Log is a big part of these initiatives as it not only allows us to dispose of our used waxed-cardboard in an environmentally-friendly manner, but also allows us to offer our customers a cleaner burning alternative to wood and other less eco-friendly firelogs."
"Our partnership with Whole Foods Market really makes sense because both companies are dedicated to providing environmentally-friendly products to their customers," said Ross McRoy, president of Enviro-Log, Inc. "This Earth Day event will allow us to introduce attendees to our unique firelogs and to emphasize the need for everyone to recycle."
Enviro-Log is the largest waxed cardboard recycler in the U.S. The company uses its recycled waxed cardboard to manufacture its earth-friendly firelogs that burn cleaner and more efficiently than firewood, while offering more uses than competitive wax-sawdust firelogs. Enviro-Log also offers a variety of earth-friendly firelogs and firestarters.
In 2006, Enviro-Log partnered with Whole Foods Market in a unique business relationship which allows Whole Foods to divert their used waxed-cardboard from its retail stores and distribution centers, which previously had been landfilled, to Enviro-Log where the cardboard is converted into clean-burning firelogs that are then sold at Whole Foods Market locations around the country. This is a true close-loop partnership that is a win-win for both companies.
