Patient Access Solutions to Present Mobipen Solution at "Home Care for the Future" Seminar in Washington D.C.

House of Sweden Showcases PAS's Digital Pen Technology at Upcoming Seminar

HAUPPAUGE, N.Y., May 18, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Patient Access Solutions, Inc. (Pink Sheets:PASO), a provider of digital pen and paperwork technologies for the healthcare industry, will be presenting its PASHealth D-PAS' digital pen and paper Mobipen Care System (www.mobipen-usa.com) at the upcoming Embassy of Sweden's cluster initiative "New Tools for Health, Home Care for the Future " spring program at House of Sweden in Washington D.C. on May 26, 2010.

Patient Access Solution's Mobipen Care System, powered by Anoto functionality and created with the Swedish IT company Catrel AB, is bringing to the $55 Billion annual home health care market a smart and simple way to successfully complete documentation.  During the "Home Care for the Future" seminar, eight companies and care organizations from Sweden and the United States have been selected to present new technologies and tools that help improve quality of life for millions of older or disabled people. Patient Access Solutions' Mobipen Care System is one of these companies.

An expert panel, including Mr. Majd Alwan, Center for Aging Services Technologies (CAST), Mr. Bengt Andersson, Swedish Institute of Assistive Technology (SIAT), Mr. Joeseph Caughlin, MIT AgeLab, and Mrs. Elinor Ginzler, Senior Vice-President for Liveable Communities, AARP will discuss the viability of these technologies as well as future needs in this growing field. Also participating in this seminar will be representatives from the Health Care Institute Center for the Aging, National Association for Home Care & Hospice, American Association for Homecare, just to name a few.

"The goal here is to allow more and more individuals to live at home as long as possible versus moving into an institutional setting," said Weitzberg. "Patient Access Solutions, along with our Swedish partners Anoto and Catrel, offers innovative technology to help people realize this dream while providing quality care at a lower cost for individuals, insurers, and governments."

"Having the opportunity to present our solution to an audience of this magnitude will allow PAS to expand exponentially into the home healthcare market," added Weitzberg.

The Mobipen Care System collects information at the point of service such as: identifying the patient being cared for, the name of the staff that has attended to the patient; what kind of help or service has been provided; how much time was spent on each patient; and any possible changes in the patient's health situation.  The written information is then uploaded electronically to the agency's computer system via the Mobipen Care application, and now hand written information instantly becomes usable data for tracking and accountability.
