MAYNARD, MA--(Marketwire - June 2, 2010) - Senior sales and channel management executive, Eric Dougherty, has joined Stratus Technologies as vice president of channel sales, the company announced today. Dougherty's extensive experience building successful direct and indirect sales teams for many New England-area software companies -- with a particularly strong record of creating revenue-producing indirect channel organizations from the ground up -- aligns perfectly with the company's strategic sales and marketing initiatives.

Prior to coming to Stratus, Dougherty was vice president of partners and alliances at Rapid7, a provider of software products for determining vulnerabilities in an organization's IT infrastructure. There he architected and successfully implemented all aspects of the company's partner and alliances strategy. Previously, at Acronis, Inc., Dougherty's authorized solution provider program earned the "5-Star Partner Program" Award from VAR Business magazine in 2008. He has also held executive positions at Ecora Software Corporation, Softricity Inc. (acquired by Microsoft), and Axis Communications, among others. Dougherty is a graduate of the University of Rhode Island. He resides with his family in Westford, Mass.
