Pimi Agro Reports Successful Trial Results of Its Organic Solution, OnionGuard(TM)

BEVERLY HILLS, CA--(Marketwire - June 7, 2010) -  Pimi Agro CleanTech, Inc. "Pimi" (OTCBB: PIMZ), a U.S. corporation established to develop and market environmentally friendly alternative solutions for treating pre- and post-harvest of fruits and vegetables, announced today that it completed its first round of trials utilizing OnionGuard™ in the treatment of onions. Similar to Pimi's SpuDefender™, StoreGuard™ and SeedGuard™ patented technologies, OnionGuard™ is aimed at preventing decay which may occur during storage prior to the packing and distribution of onions.

To date, there is no effective treatment to reduce Botrytis neck rot and Aspergillus black mold, which are the two main onion diseases in the southern part of Idaho. These diseases may cause losses of up to 40% of an onion harvest. In the current trial, Pimi is testing the efficacy of OnionGuard™ to prevent rot, mold and other diseases which are common problems for processors and sellers of stored onions.

The trials were carried out in conjunction with the University of Idaho using the Granero onion and compared untreated onions with onions treated with Pimi's OnionGuard™ solution. The results were dramatic, showing that after 6 months of storage, defects were reduced from 35% to 15% by using the Pimi Agro process. Pimi expects to conduct its next evaluation in July.

Youval Saly, CEO, commented, "We are excited by these initial results which indicate that OnionGuard™ is an environmentally friendly and cost-effective solution which can help farmers, shippers, processors and retailers increase the yield of viable onions. We are planning to begin a commercial trial during the onion planting season in September 2010."
