Sigma Systems Appoints Peter Garand as Vice President of Professional Services

Industry Veteran to Lead the Company's Global Customer Deployment and Support Operations


TORONTO--(Marketwire - July 27, 2010) -  Sigma Systems, an industry leader in advanced IP service fulfillment solutions, today announced that Peter Garand has joined the company as Vice President of Professional Services.

Garand will be responsible for Sigma Systems' Professional Services, which installs and integrates the company's award-winning Service Management Portfolio of provisioning, activation, fulfillment and active mediation solutions within service providers' networks. He will also oversee customer support for deployment of new services, management of existing services and training programs.

As a veteran of technology consulting services, Garand has extensive experience in delivering professional services in the telecom sector. Garand began his career at AT&T, Nortel and Alcatel. These roles provided him with a strong foundation in the telecom market and contributed to his expertise in the OSS/BSS market.

He subsequently spent over 10 years in senior leadership roles at a number of consulting firms, most notably as a partner at Cap Gemini Ernst & Young and as a Principal at Accenture. In these roles, Garand was responsible for major technology practices in areas such as OSS/BSS, enterprise managed services, mobile applications and next-generation video on-demand solutions.

Garand is the former Vice President of Program Management at Rogers Wireless, where he was responsible for the operator's project portfolio and was instrumental in the build-out and integration of the operator's 3G network.
