"I also would like to acknowledge the close working relationship between the FCIA and T11 as we continue to develop new and exciting Fibre Channel features."

"Commemorating FCIA's 100th meeting is a huge milestone as it shows the significant Fibre Channel advancements our organization and the INCITS T11 committee have accomplished," said Skip Jones, Chairman FCIA.  "When the first Fibre Channels Standard meeting occurred in 1988, the term 'Storage Area Networks' was still 10 years away, as was the notion of networked storage in enterprise data centers.  Over a decade ago, Fibre Channel enabled the advent of SANs and today Fibre Channel continues to thrive with a 40% growth in 8GFC with suppliers gearing up for 16GFC shipments in the next year.  These advancements continue to provide assurance to technology providers and end-users that their Fibre Channel investment continues to be the most superior technology today and will continue to provide value in the future."
