FRANKFURT, GERMANY--(Marketwire - October 20, 2010) - The ancotel group, headquartered in Frankfurt am Main, an international service provider for carrier-neutral colocation, telehousing and interconnection, welcomes AboveNet as its 400th customer at Kleyer 90® in Frankfurt Germany. AboveNet, a leading provider of high bandwidth connectivity solutions, has selected ancotel's Frankfurt facility to expand its network in Europe beyond its existing locations in London, Paris and Amsterdam.
AboveNet chose ancotel due to its geographic location and proximity to Frankfurt, where a number of global carriers maintain a presence at Kleyer 90. This, together with AboveNet's focus on global corporate businesses, including clients from the financial sector, meant ancotel's Frankfurt location was an ideal site for AboveNet.
Klaus-Jürgen Orth, co-founder and Managing Director of ancotel GmbH, views AboveNet's decision as not only an affirmation of the quality of services his company offers, but also a confirmation of Frankfurt's importance as a global communications hub. "With 400 customers, ancotel is the only European colocation center that has such a high concentration of global carriers. With each new customer the dynamic marketplace where ideas and information are shared continues to grow -- and that in turn strengthens Frankfurt's own position as one of the world's most important data and telecommunications network nodes."
Since its establishment in 2002, Kleyer 90 has made a name for itself all over the world as the first communication gateway to serve Eastern Europe. In just eight years, the number of customers has grown from 20 to 400 -- and the company's workforce has increased from just three to over 100, and continues to grow. In addition to its Frankfurt, Germany headquarters, the ancotel group also operates independent subsidiaries in London, Hong Kong and in the United States via ancotel USA, LLC, located at 1025 Old Country Road, Long Island, NY.
