Tactical Communications Group Adds Situational Awareness Data Link (SADL) Capabilities to Its Tactical Data Link Communications Solutions

Provides US Air Force, US Air National Guard and Other Military Organizations an Operational, Test and Training Solution for Integrating Close Air Support Aircraft With the Digitized Battlefield

TEWKSBURY, MA--(Marketwire - October 27, 2010) -  Tactical Communications Group (TCG), the leading independent provider of tactical data link ("TDL") software solutions for military test, training and operational applications worldwide, today announced the addition of Situational Awareness Data Link (SADL) capability to its LinkPRO, Battlefield Operational Support System (BOSS), and Ground Tactical Data Link System (GTS) solutions. With this new capability, TCG can now provide the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Air National Guard and other military users the ability to integrate Close Air Support ("CAS") aircraft with the digitized battlefield. The system can act as a gateway between Link 16 and SADL and can also put the Link 16 imagery message into the SADL network. This new capability also offers units the ability to test and train simultaneously with aircraft equipped with different data links, including Link 16 and SADL, to greatly enhance joint training exercises and expand the airborne network to ground parties so they can work more effectively as a team.

The Situational Awareness Data Link, or SADL, is an integral part of Air National Guard F-16 and A-10 digital communications capability, and is key to execution of Close Air Support missions. It can be used for air-to-surface and air-to-air missions and provides secure, jam-resistant, contention-free communications. Combining SADL with TCG's Link 16, JREAP and other capabilities, current users of TCG's LinkPRO, BOSS and GTS products can now access all the necessary data links and exchange data between the links with ease in one easy-to-use system, eliminating the need for multiple systems with different data link capabilities.

"Adding SADL to TCG's products will allow the military to access several tactical data links simultaneously, using our products as their gateway solution to bridge existing military communications and extend tactical networks for improved battlefield intelligence and optimized CAS," said Gary Zimmerman, Director of Strategic Programs at TCG. "TCG is committed to providing our customers with the most updated data link capabilities and features and is constantly improving our military testing, training and operational systems so pilots can enhance situational awareness."

About TCG's Products -- TCG's has 3 primary products for military operational, test and training applications. Each of these three products, as further described below, have been updated to provide an interface to control the SADL radio and control the data flowing to and from the SADL network.

TCG's Battlefield Operations Support System (BOSS) -- A gold standard in the military test industry, TCG's Battlefield Operations Support System (BOSS) is the top-selling standards compliant TDL simulation and test software solution on the market. It allows government test organizations, industry systems providers and military R&D organizations to reliably and consistently certify tactical data link implementations to assure interoperability and conformance with military standards.

TCG's Ground Tactical Data Link System (GTS) -- TCG's Ground Tactical Data Link System (GTS) is a mobile, highly realistic tactical training and simulation system for terrestrial TDL networks. Using GTS, military air operators can now easily create live operational Link 11/16/SADL/TTNT networks from the ground and provide highly efficient, cost-effective and realistic TDL training, allowing operators to "train as they fight" and to get military forces ready for real combat. Military air units are now able to lower mission training costs, eliminating substantial fuel and operational costs associated with having jets in the air in order to provide this training.

TCG's LinkPRO -- As the company's core product, TCG's LinkPRO solution is a suite of software components that provides a custom configurable DLP for implementing tactical data links (TDLs) in advanced military communications platforms. Through an implementation that leverages object oriented design techniques and state-of-the-art implementation, LinkPRO provides connectivity and link level management for Command and Control (C2) and non-C2 tactical data systems and their host computers.
