COLUMBUS, OH--(Marketwire - October 29, 2010) - The Obama Administration's failure to solve the unemployment problem, along with unpopular policies on healthcare and immigration, are key factors in how people will vote, according to the latest American Pulse™ Survey of 5,116 respondents. The majority of registered voters say the economy (78%) and job creation (59.3%) will influence them at the polls.
Regardless of how they plan to vote, 45% of registered voters think Republicans will win control of the House compared to 27% who believe Democrats will keep it. 36.3% predict Republicans to take control of the Senate while 33.1% say Democrats will retain the majority. 65.4% are somewhat/very concerned about the outcome of the election (72.1% of Registered Republicans, 65.7% of Democrats and 66.3% of Independents agree).
With the election just days away, enthusiasm is growing, particularly among registered Independents. 46.5% of registered voters say they are somewhat/very excited to vote, while 45.7% of Independents agree (up 14% from two weeks ago).
Job creation and the economy are also top issues for Excited Voters when it comes to influencing their vote. Immigration and repealing healthcare reform round out the top four issues for Excited Republicans and Independents. The war in Afghanistan and keeping healthcare reform are more likely to influence Excited Democrats.

Key Findings Among Excited Registered Voters:
- 36.6% say they will vote strictly on party lines... 47.9% say they won't.
- 54.9% believe Republicans will win control of the House; 28.3% say Democrats will.
- 42.4% think Republicans will take control of the Senate; 37% say Democrats will.
- 59.8% think voter fraud is an issue (69.8% of Excited Republicans, 49.3% of Democrats and 61.6% of Independents agree.)
